Live bullion rates, published straight to the customer

Live bullion rates, published straight to the customer
  • Company: Bawan Gold
  • Industry: Precious Metals Refining & Wholesale
  • Platform: iOS — iPhone, iPad, Mac on Apple silicon, and Apple Vision
  • Headquarters: Erbil, Kurdistan Region — Iraq
  • Use case: Publishing live bullion rates to customers
  • App Store: Bawan Precious Metals

Bawan Gold refines and wholesales precious metals out of Erbil, with a second counter in Sulaymaniyah. Enzziro had already digitised the inside of that business — the scrap and purity calculators, the wholesale rate management, the corporate site. This is the part the customer sees: a free iOS app that publishes the same rates the business runs on.

The app opens on the live gold ounce in US dollars with the day's movement beside it, so the direction of the market is the first thing on screen. Under it sits Bawan's own list — Lyra 1, 2.5 and 5 coins and the 1kg silver bar — and a second tab carries the full bullion list, 995 and 999.9 at 250, 500 and 1000 grams. Every figure is calculated from the live market rather than typed in by hand.

Two things take it past a price ticker. A history tab recalls any past date by day, month and year and shows what that price was quoted against — LBMA, XAU, USD — so a customer can check a figure they were given weeks ago rather than take it on trust. A map tab carries both branches and their addresses, for the point where a price becomes a visit.

The rest is the detail that decides whether people keep an app. Prices show in dollars or dinars. The interface runs in English, Kurdish or Arabic. Text size is adjustable, and price notifications mean a customer watching for a level doesn't have to keep opening the app to find it. Version 1.1.0 added the iPad layouts and finer increments on the Lyra coins.
